At almost 200m high, they are among Hamburg's tallest buildings and rise directly on the A7 near Altenwerder. When they were installed in 2009, the two wind turbines were the largest in the world. Not far away, the remains of old windmills can be found hidden in the landscape. What happened on the way between historic wooden construct and modern mega machine? By networking regional artists, scientists and students, the movie shows windpower on a new, cinematic scale.
The movie plot is kicked off by the appearance of a first millstone thousands of years ago and leads to the search of the highest wind turbine in present times - the transformation of the wind wheel continues!
