At almost 200m high, they are among Hamburg's tallest buildings and rise directly on the A7 near Altenwerder. When they were installed in 2009, the two wind turbines were the largest in the world. Not far away, the remains of old windmills can be found hidden in the landscape. What happened on the way between historic wooden construct and modern mega machine? By networking regional artists, scientists and students, the movie shows windpower on a new, cinematic scale. Spanning millennia, the story begins with the appearance of an ancient millstone and culminates in a modern-day quest for the world's tallest wind turbine - the transformation of the wind wheel continues!
